Focusing on God’s character, worth, and promises builds better mental and spiritual health than dwelling on personal needs and limitations.
3 Daily Mindset Exercises
Start the day with gratitude. Consider 3-4 of Gods attributes before checking your phone. “I will wake up the day with my song.” Ps. 108:2
Write down, or send yourself a scripture about one of God’s promises regarding a challenging circumstance. Read it out loud to yourself throughout the day. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Practice metacognition, which in it’s basic meaning is to be aware of your thoughts throughout the day; then take your limiting or negative thoughts captive. You have the ability and power to do so. It’s OK to talk back to those invasive thoughts. “Take every thought captive and bring it to the obedience (agreement) with Christ (God’s word).” 2 Corinthians 10:5
